Booking at the Little Grill

Hey there all you fine folks who wish to play at the grill!!

Here are some answers to FAQ:

What kind of music do you have here?
We do all kinds of music, but we certainly have been focusing on Americana/ folk/bluegrass for the past year or two. But we’re very open to any genre if you feel there’s good fan basis in the area. No cover bands please.

I’m a traveling musician looking for a new place to play, should I play at the Grill?
Awesome! We would love to have you! BUT, unless you know a whole flock of people in Harrisonburg, you’re probably not going to have a good turn out. The Little Grill is set in a college town full of exciting things to do. You may be exciting too, but do you know 40 people who will come share in your excitement at the Grill on a Friday night? If the answer is no, then your best bet is to try opening up for a local act.

What’s in it for me?
When playing a show at the grill here’s what we can offer you: a bucket for tips, a free meal, free PBR, and a boat-load of smiles from the friendly folks who work at the Grill.

What time does the show start?
All shows happen on Fridays and start at 8pm

How long do I play?
Play as long as you’ve got a good crowd that wants to see you play. Normally two 45 min sets or an hour an a half is a good idea.

What kind of promotion do you do?
We put your name in the local paper, put the event on our online calendar, and hang up whatever flyers you send us. We are a small collective so you have to be self-promoting, we aren’t able to it for you.

How do I book a show at the Grill?
Email, its the wave of the future, send us links with your music and we’ll listen and contact you if we’re interested. Please don’t call!!! We do nothing by the telephone! Don’t Call!!!

What if I don’t get an email back?
Well…its not that your not good enough, we turn down lots of great bands that don’t work out because of whatever logistics. Usually we’re either booked up or we don’t have any local act you could open up for. Don’t get discouraged and try again in the future!

What the Grill really wants from a show…
We love music! I bet you do too! So you say to yourself “I’m looking for some new folks to play for” or “I’m looking for a taste of the American Dream; traveling around, playing music, getting into little adventures.” Anything is possible! Today, making music for a living ain’t easy, we know! Here you might make enough to put a couple gallons of gas in your car to get you to another show, and for that, we do exist. But please don’t come to the Grill to make money. Come to play music!!! You get a free meal and hopefully have a great time in our little restaurant. We’ve got lots of love for musicians that play from the soul and know how to connect with an audience. We’ve got lots of love for their being an audience too! As we’re sure you do. So keep all these things in mind when heading towards the Grill. We’re quite open-minded, but certainly do adhere to the points above when booking. Be proactive and convincing and perhaps we shall see you on our little stage soon!
